I moved from London to the Colchester area in my early teens and went to Manningtree School,\u00a0 where I became Head Boy, followed by further education at the Colchester Institute.\u00a0 Since then, apart from my time working away in the world of dance, I have lived and worked locally.<\/p>\n
Married with two grown-up children, I am retired from practice as a solicitor and\u00a0\u00a0enjoy\u00a0 travel, the arts, cycling, skiing, writing, tennis and of course sculpting.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I get great fulfillment from the creative and practical challenges of sculpting and the forms and lines of my anatomical works are an oblique link with my former life in dance.<\/p>\n I retired as\u00a0 the secretary of Colchester Arts\u2019 Centre Limited colchesterartscentre.com<\/a>, 37 years after forming the company. It has become one of the country\u2019s leading art centres under the creative direction of Anthony Roberts.\u00a0 I was also a director of the Colchester Archaeological Trust Limited\u00a0 catuk.org<\/a>\u00a0 for over 10 years and very glad to be involved with the Trust at such an interesting time in its history following the discovery of the Roman Circus under the able direction of Philip Crummy.<\/p>\n For over 10 years I was a director of the Victor Batte Lay Foundation vblfcollection.org.uk\u00a0<\/a> , wearetheminories.org<\/a>\u00a0which owns the beautiful and vibrant Minories Art Gallery in Colchester, as well as an important art collection focusing on East Anglian artists\u00a0<\/p>\n
