During the 20th century, stone fragments of the head of the goddess Isis were unearthed in the grounds of Colchester Grammar School. Colchester Archaeological Trust commissioned Stephen to recreate a head of the goddess, based on those fragments, and archaeologically researched drawings of her face made by Emma Holloway. The finished head is on display at the Trust’s headquarters at Roman Circus House Colchester.
